Friends of the Forest
I think they were looking for some ducks.
Hannah talks about the benefits of the forest.
This photo gig is officially a part of the Anacortes community! I’ve signed up to be a business member for Friends of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands (that’s a mouthful), and seeing my little logo in their thank you email for their recent banquet was pretty nifty.
And it was all because of my kids. I’m not even sure I would’ve been aware of their effort if it wasn’t for chaperoning for my kids’ school field trips to local trails. Seeing Hannah trying to keep kindergarteners’ and third graders’ attention is amusing, but impressive. She manages to pique their interest long enough to actually be productive and gets them to want to know more about the topic at hand. And that effort’s admirable.
Layering that onto the effort to educate and conserve the local trails, parks, and beautiful forestry around this island just made me want to help them out in any way I could. I can only hope my little contribution and occasional photos can make some kind of impact.
